Julian Callos ('09), JAW Cooper ('09), and Mylan Nguyen ('09) will be part of the Cute & Dangerous show at 7 degrees Gallery in Laguna Beach on June 12th. More info at the super flashy Cute & Dangerous website.

Julian will also be part of "Graphics & Boards" at A Bitchin' Space gallery in Sacramento (June 12th), as well as a 10 person show at Gallery1988SF on June 26th. He's doing big things and deservedly so.

Jay Doronio ('10) AKA Oddzoo is currently showing at the Carmichael Gallery in LA through July 2nd.

Aaron Needham's ('09) band Don Juan y Los Blancos has been signed to Wild Records, they're working on a release and playing shows around the LA area. And Sergio Soto ('09) and his band are playing lots of dates in LA over the summer, including the Airliner and the Good Hurt The Demeter.

American Illustration 28

American Illustration 28 comes out in November, but they've already selected the images for the book and the web gallery, and Otis got it's representation in.

There's some 1,000 images available to preview (out of over 8 thousand submitted), so I didn't go through them all, but I paged through the thumbnails to see if I could recognize anyone and while I'm not sure if any Otis alums made the book, the web gallery did.

Recent grads Julian Callos, Jessica Cooper, Mylan Nguyen, and Nigel Sanders (hey that's me), along with sometime ago grad Calef Brown all got in on the web gallery side.

Let's make this a place where anyone related to Otis Illustration can post news, events, shows, books, clothes, whatever you got going on, think of it like a way to keep in touch as well as spread the word.

For instance: JAW Cooper, recent Otis grad (like 3 days ago) is currently showing at La Luz De Jesus in Los Angeles until the end of the month.

In the future, Misato Otake & Jessica Dalva, two more recent Otis Alums will be showing in August at La Luz. When the flyer comes, it can be posted up here.
